Spotted... Humanities Building, Madison

Red tie, blue jeans, white shirt etc... nothing really fancy, but to the point, that's what I love about this gentleman's look. He was able to pull off the hat nicely... this kind of hat does not look good on everyone, at least not on me, no matter how hard I try...

Spotted...State Street, Madison

The cold weather's back! It's really a love hate to me. I hate it because it does get REAL cold here in Madison, and it's no fun staying outdoors. But I love it at the same time because people will put on more layers for the cold, and that means more mix and matches.
I love this gentleman's pea coat, in fact I have a similar one too. And good call on the black jeans, it goes really well with the black boots, it's always difficult to find a good color to match black shoes.

Classy... State Street, Madison

Don't have to say much about this lady, I just love every piece on her, they are all so elegant. Her golden accessories match perfectly with her blond hair and skin tone. And of course, the scarf is a beauty, it elevates the classiness to a higher level.

Spotted... Sardines (Williamson Street), Madison

I was about to enter Sardines (my favorite restaurant in Madison) for brunch today, and right next to the entrance, I spotted this gentleman sitting outside, enjoying his meal. I hesitated whether I should approach him, since I forgot my camera this morning and I wasn't sure if he would wait for me to get my camera, luckily he was willing to do so, thank you very much.
Another lucky is that, it's really hard to find young guys with his style around this area.
Anyway, I love his driver shoes, no doubt... and good job playing with colors, they made him look more mature even with the preppy shoes on. I also like how clean he looks, and of course his Prada eyeglasses grabbed my attention while I was shooting.

Spotted... State Street, Madison

This is what we call mix and match here. There isn't any particular main item on this lady, but it's the whole look that draws your attention. She does know how to accessorize her look too, I love her glasses, her fedora and her big loop earring. I'm glad she didn't wear anything fancy or complicated on her lower half, because this helps balance her very busy upper half.

Biking Boots?... N. Bassett, Madison

I always tried to avoid wearing loafers or boots when I had to bike that day, since I thought it wouldn't be comfortable wearing them while you bike. But apparently that's not true... and it looks pretty good as well.

Go Badgers!!!... State Street, Madison

Great victory against MSU today

Spotted... State Street, Madison

Another display of simplicity, yet huge wow factor involved. I normally do not suggest girls wearing gladiator sandals, because it's not easy to pull off. But apparently, this lady WAS able to do so, especially with her long skinny legs and shorts with the perfect length.
Here are some suggestions if you really want to wear gladiator sandals:
Number 1, you need to be tall enough, or the shoes actually make you look short.
Also, no skinny jeans please, you don't want to look like you are being wrapped from toe to thigh.
Nail polishing with these shoes... is a No! The sandals alone already draw enough attention, you don't need more...

Old school... N. Park Street, Madison

This gentleman pulled off a look that's almost regularly seen in Japanese fashion magazines like Men's Nono. Really old school, he didn't wear anything fancy in particular, but that's how it works.
I love his bag, when you look at it carefully, it's actually pretty interesting.

Spotted... Memorial Library, Madison

Less is more... no crazy prints, no complicated cuttings, simply a pair of jeans, black boots, gray top makes the whole look perfect. Of course, this lady wants to let us know that she's not a boring person, so she spiced it up with her necklace and headband.

Nike Blazers!!!... N. Park Street, Madison

Happy to find a person who's not wearing rain boots on a rainy day. It's hard... because rain boots on rainy days are like Ugg boots in winter.
I like her Nike Blazers a lot, in fact i think that all black is the best color in the Nike Blazer line. And what makes it even better is that they are not new, so you can see some worn out leather and parts turning white on the shoes.
Good call on the pants, because Blazers don't go well with skinny legged pants. It's tapper legged, not really skinny, but won't look baggy at the same time.
I also like her scarf with the crazy patterns, it creates a great contrast to her whole outfit

Spotted... State Street, Madison

Love the cowboy boots, I see too many people abusing the use of cowboy boots nowadays. So I'm glad that she picked that dress, it definitely goes well with the boots.

Spotted... Chicago Theatre, Chicago

I normally don't like to take photos at night, just because I like bright photos too much. But this time, I was at the entrance of Chicago Theatre, standing under hundreds of light bulbs, and I thought I should give it a try.
I recently have a thing for small leather bags, I'm just in love with them.

Cheeeeeese:D... N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago

Well dressed man. Like his loafers and handkerchief in his pocket.
Not so sure about the pink phone though...

Spotted... N. Michigan Ave, Chicago

Compared to the last homeless guy, this man has a total different feeling, now that I look at the shots, it looks kind of sad actually. It seems like the arm is trying so hard to protect his story, hidden under his baggy blazer

Denim... University Ave, Madison

Thanks to my cousin Chuck, I'm pretty much in love with Denim nowadays.
Good choice on the boy friend denim shirt. If she wore a denim jacket it would be a total different story. I'm glad she went for white top and white shorts, the whites added some sexiness to the "worker feel" shirt.

Floral number 4... State Street, Madison

Thumbs up for this floral dress, perfect length and perfect colors for this lady's skin tone. Also, I like her sandal/flats (thank god she's not wearing flip flops, a lot of girls around this area do that, and it's very wrong)
Good bag choice too, the black leather backpack definitely enhances her vintage look. On the streets, especially in college towns, you see a lot of girls wearing a nice dress, great makeup and then on their back, is a nylon JanSports backpack, what a turn off.
One more thumbs up for this lady... she's a fan of The Sartorialist as well.

Spotted... State Street, Madison

Suspenders... I always like to spice things up by wearing suspenders, however it just never seemed right to me, maybe I need a belly like his.
His look is all about color coordination once again. Two different groups of colors on his body: Black & White and Brown and they go perfectly fine together. These 2 groups of colors are almost like strangers that happen to be in the same place, chit chatting and having a great time being together.

I'm a grown up... Eagle's Wing Pre-School, Madison

I have been working at this pre- school for 3 years now, and i have taken thousands of photos of my students, but i have never come across such photogenic kids. It is really cute how these innocent kids are wearing mommy's heels and want to be a grown ups.

Man in Black... Rush Street, Chicago

This man's posture and facial expression look so confident that it's almost like they are telling you he pulled together a great outift today. And it is true, i mean... leather jacket, brown boots rayfarers, short blonde hair...all these just perfectly fit his skinny body and "cool guy" look, and it seems so effortless too.

Colors... spotted at West Towne Mall, Madison

I like how she wasn't wearing anything fancy or complicated, but still was able to catch so much attention with the colors. Everything on her was so plain (well some patterns on her skirt) but still, this has created some sort of American Apparel affect. Two more things I like about her look. One, her geeky glasses, two, her little black purse, these two served well as her accessories-- really accessorizing her whole look.

Finally someone... North Brooks Street, Madison

Really happy that I finally found someone wearing a decent suit in Madison. It's actually a pretty difficult task here. Unlike London, New York, Pairs or other big cities, people here seldom dress up, even if they do, they look boring, nothing special.
I like how this gentleman has his suit, belt, watch shoes, bag and even eye glasses of the same color tone, looks clean and classy in a quiet way and lets the colorful tie do all the talking.

Spotted... University Avenue, Madison

What can i say... Another floral print. Sometimes simple is the best, she doesn't need any accessories, just a floral dress with a pair of leather boots is already making a statement. And of course her white as snow skin color made a great contrast with other colors on her.

Ruffles please...West Towne Mall, Madison

Great display of hairdo matching perfectly with the outfit. The crazy ruffles on the dress resonate well with the curly hair this lady has. And smart call wearing that navy blazer. First, navy goes well with the yellow and brown on her, second, the dress itself has a pale color, like her skin, so it wouldn't look nice if she wore just the dress alone.

Floral...again, State Street, Madison

Told you floral prints is my favorite! This lady did a great job in matching complementary colors. A lot of people like matching complementary colors however they often control the proportions wrongly. Here, lots of green backed with a few touches of red is a perfect proportion, it won't feel overwhelming at all. Also, smart use of belt to bring up the curves, and i think her hairstyle and shades enhances her whole vintage look!
Thumbs up!

Spotted... Grainger Hall, Madison

Simple, sometimes IS the best! I spotted this fellow student while we were both leaving the building after class. I first saw his boat shoes (I love boat shoes, i have more than 15 pairs of Sperry Topsiders), which is not hard to find around the campus, however not a lot of people wear them the right way in my opinion. A lot of them match the boat shoes with loose cut chinos that go way down below their knees, which looks kind of weird, because boat shoes are not like some sneakers or basketball shoes, they are rather slim fit so wearing such kind of shorts make the whole look really unbalanced.
And this student did a really good job with his shorts and color choice. Rather short navy chinos with boat shoes is a check, the navy and brown color match is a check as well. Navy and brown can't go wrong!! Last of all, he doesn't need any fancy accessories or hair styles, just a pair of wayfarer and neatly combed hair creates this whole vintage look.

Spotted... State Street, Madison

Madison actually has quite a lot of homeless people, most of them wear baggy shirts and pants and a big jacket for all 4 seasons, but apparently this homeless guy over here does care about what he wears.
