The Fred Perry Guy... Central, Hong Kong

When I was still in Madison, it was easy to bump into people that I've shot before, since it's not a big city and I mostly shoot around the captiol and state street area. But for a big city like Hong Kong, bumping into a random person you've shot on the street is pretty hard, nevertheless, this gentleman is the first one-- a friendly and stylish guy, we talked for a bit and found out he works for Fred Perry, so I guess I know where to go next time when I want a nice shot for my blog.

The Cute Pair... outside IFC, Central

As I was strolling around the mall today, my "Ralph Lauren Radar" was beeping, and there you go, this good looking gentlemen dressed nicely, just like one of those Ralph Lauren models you see, and I'm a big fan of RL btw. And next to him was a lady dressed so nicely as well. Both of them did an awesome job color matching, and together their styles are just a perfect mix of simplicity and fanciness.

And just a side note for the ladies out there, if you are in search for a pair of nice flats, Ferragamo is a good choice, you can just tell from the photograph.

J. Crew on Family Guy

I was watching Family Guy's season 8 DVD-- the star wars episode the other day, and interesting enough, the show included a scene of Quagmire walking pass a J.crew store, and that made my day, since both Family Guy and J.crew are my favorites, this combination is definitely something to me.
For those of you who haven't heard of J. Crew yet (esp those outside the states and Japan, so check it out, http://www.j.crew.com/) And of course, go check out Family Guy as well ;)

Busy texting... TST, Hong Kong

I just saw the me i used to be when i saw this gentleman the other day. Back a few years ago, I also had long hair like his and there was a point that my look just didn't feel right without a blazer and a fedora on.

Down jacket... Canton Road, Hong Kong

People say it's been one of the coldest winters in Hong Kong this year. How about a down bomber jacket to stay warm and in style?

A very simple yet classy display. Great cold weather colors , subtle with a little bit of twist here and there.. and he reminds me that I need to get a pair of new wing tips!!!

From Japan, by the pier... Hong Kong

This gentleman is one of the very rare cases that I was telling myself, I gotta take a picture of him once I spotted him. I guess it's because we share a lot of common taste in terms of fashion. I love fedoras, I love stripes, and I love Longchamp bags on men. The destruction holes on his sweater and the jeans resonate really well together and doesn't feel overwhelming at all.

And I think this picture would have been so different, and less interesting I should say, if there wasn't a little green sneaking out from his starbucks cup from this all "black and white" photograph.

Young Aussies, Outside Harbor City, TST

Young and energetic can be such a nice accessory to your style sometimes. And of course, carrying nice bags like theirs won't hurt as well!

Colorful guy... Canton Road, Hong Kong

I'm not the biggest fan of colorful and busy patterned styles usually, but I must say this gentleman has pulled off a look I've never thought would work. The look does look busy, but in a pleasant way, and the different tones of blues on him resonate so well, it's almost like they are all blended in together perfectly.
Also, if you take a closer look, you'll see how much thinking he's put into this look, with all the layering, rolled cuffs and neatly tied scarf... this is amazing.

Spotted.. Paterson Street, Causeway Bay

It's this lady's tort eye glasses that brought out the vintage and classiness of this look. I love the stripped top she has on, i'm always a big fan of stripes.... and I actually I the same one too, bought from Muji :)

Worth a thousand words... Queens Road Central, Hong Kong

There are a lot of styles that Asians can't pull off, but when it comes to all black, it never goes wrong on Asians. Some say black is a dull color or some even do not consider it as a color, but to me, black is the most colorful of all colors. You cannot imagine how much an all black outfit can express with its different tones of black and different textures of black-- from the silkiness of his shirt and blazer, and the roughness of his denim jeans to the shinny and rustiness of his leather goods, it really worth more than a thousand words.

Out of all blacks, my favorite has to be his blazer, the match up between its shortened sleeves and its lengthened body gives the look a great balance. And I like how his double breasted buttons are only single rowed unlike the usual.

From head to toe... Wyndham Street, Central

A great demonstration of heavy Japanese influenced style... from head to toe.
And I like how this gentleman put a little touch of vintage with his heavily worn sneakers and the western style studded belt.

Tourists... Wyndham Street, Central

I enjoy shooting couples a lot, it's always nice to see how their styles influence one another.

Nothing flashy or fancy about the looks. Just very simple winter patterns and layering, which is good enough to draw your attention, it's the inner beauty of the pieces that does the talking.

Their styles look so comfortable yet fashionable in a subtle way... a good weekend look that I would definitely put on, they remind me of the Japanese brands Uniqlo and Muji.

From England... Canton Road, Hong Kong

A pretty typical style you would spot on Oxford Street, London, I guess it's because this lady's from England, and this is how I like it... a pair of leggings, tunic with a bomber jacket... and of course you gotta have a blackberry!

I also like how the pattern of the top resonates with the zig zag shoe laces-- a really unpretentious match.

On the stairs... Central Area, Hong Kong

Really clean and simple look this lady has on... with a little bit of twist-- laces on the shoulders.. and I would say she did a great job picking a short length cardigan instead of a long one... or if would've taken away most of the blue from the shirt and the whole look would look really dull.

Winters in Hong Kong aren't always cold... you'll agree with me especially when you're from somewhere cold. So when you don't want to look too much of an outcast and wear a skirt or shorts.... add a little taste of winter like this lady did--- grey socks with a pair of suede boots....
